Welcome! If this is your first time here, please allow me to introduce myself. I’m Linda Hough, an American artist, writer and Creative Confidence Coach currently living in the south of France.
By nature I am an introvert who delights in the simple pleasures of life. Living in France suits that part of me very well. I’m in awe of the extraordinary beauty in the world despite all the various distractions that tempt us away from this notion.
When I write my manifesto, it will be all about the value of creativity. No longer the sole privilege of artists, creativity is essential to the health and well-being of people and the planet.
For this reason, I’m wildly passionate about supporting people in finding happiness through their unique creative expression; whether that means taking time out during a busy day to restore your sanity with some simple art supplies, or finding your creative edge as someone already deeply engaged with your work.
My own path has been a meandering road, leading me from one interest to another, learning and growing along the way. It took some time to acknowledge my desire to become an artist so I understand the pause that often lies in having a dream and then deciding to make it real.
What I’ve learned on my own journey is that having support and the right tools are essential elements of attaining any dream, creative or otherwise.
In early 2013, I found the ultimate tool not only for my creative practice but for my own personal growth. This tool made such an impact in my world that I wanted to talk about it with just about anyone who’d listen.
That tool was visual journaling.
Using supplies commonly found in the kids section of any store, I began to explore and connect with myself in a way that I’d never before experienced. This is NOT about creating art. This is a tool, a process that can be used in many ways, for many purposes. With further experimentation, I developed my own way of using this tool which I call visionary journaling. What I’m sharing on this site are the results and impact that working in this way have had upon my life and how you too can experience the same.
So often I hear how hard life is, how difficult and frustrating it can be.
And certainly it can be all of those things.
Life can also be beautiful, an invitation to freely create and express yourself, to add your voice to the choir and to experience everyday joy. Essentially, an invitation to happiness.
This is the path that I desire to take. If this sounds like something you’d like to do too, please consider subscribing to workshop updates and blog posts by entering your email address into the form on the right.
